A journey to TK Falls [Thottikallu Bande]!

A beautiful place, near Bannerughatta National Park, Bangalore, Karnataka.

It was 21st July 2010, Me (Abhilash.H.M) and my friends decided to have a break and planned for a one day trip to a nearest natural water place. N we came up with TK Falls which is 30kms from Bangalore City!

Not many people knows about this place. It was first for us too. Unclear about the path to get there, we started from a common spot to meet up, Majestic (The gateway of Bangalore). We gathered at Kempe gowda bus station in the morning. Then got on to a public bus to Bannerughatta National Park [BNP]. After a journey of about 1 and a half hours to reach BNP. We also came across Sri Meenakshi Temple on our way, a famous temple. 100_1417

We stopped for a while for beverages and snacks to dig in.

The BNP bus station is a junction of 4 roads. To go to TK Falls one has to go on the right most road. Travelling further into left one will take people to BNP and the straight one will lead to a temple followed by a hill DSC03568 and then to Suvarna mukhi, I’ll be describing them in my others posts!

Then came the fun part, to reach TK Falls from BNP bus station it takes hours on walk [7kms from BNP itself]. There are no bus facilities frequently either. But luckily enough there are private auto rickshaws, not the regular sized ones but rather big. I don’t know whether you people will believe me or not, 12 of us were literally squeezed into a single rickshaw! It was one heck of a ride for sure! Winking smile

We somehow managed to reach a place from where we were on our legs.

As you can see in the pic, look out for that worm. As soon as you hold it in your hand it swirls up and its ticklish too.Smile with tongue out

It was a walk of about 2km, not an actual trekking though. But it was fun! We went through thick woods, bushes and stuffs. After few yards, a pale sound of flowing water started hitting our ears. As we proceeded towards the direction from the sound came, it started becoming more clear and loud. Finally we spotted water.

The a few yards we hit the sweet spot! We were right in the path of water next to TK Falls!

Not a huge fall though, but its enjoyable! Time really races when we are in Water and to add up to our joy, it started drizzling rain. What else do you need on a Sunny afternoon!?

After playing in the water for a couple of hours, the innocent devil inside us woke up and we decided to search for the water source! After looking around we realized that the only way is to climb the rocks and it isn’t easy too. I had few cuts in my legs and hands because of the scattered glass pieces of drunk bottles thrown around! Annoyed

The rocks are too slippery, we did have some close calls with friends tripping off the boulders! Luckily no one got hurt. After climbing the rocks we were exhausted and stopped to have our meals that we carried along! Then a few yards climbing led us to a flat water bed where the water was so clear and sweet too! We let our legs rest for a while in the chilling waters, it was really Soothing! Then just a few feet above it is a big water reservoir which feeds to the Fall!

Next step wasn’t easy too, to go back! The only way to get off the Falls is to walk through the water at the tip of the falls. There are a few man made stairs but are very small and slippery. Again, had a close call with a friend who was about to fall down coz of the slippery stairs. But another friend caught her in the way and she was saved with a few scratches!

Then by the time we head back to the place where the rickshaw left us, came a public bus and we managed to hop on! At the BNP bus station we all got something to eat and drink, go on to a bus back to Kempe gowda bus station and from there we departed to our houses.

We had a great time together! It’s a good place to hangout. Give it a try!

Thank You guys! Will be back with another journey. Take care Smile

As they say no journey is complete when you are all alone!

Best App for Maintaining your Computer!

Many people asked me for the best App for over-all maintenance of Desktop & Laptop. There are many Apps that are dedicated to do many tasks. But a single App which can do everything is rare to find. One such App which I personally use is “TUNEUP UTILITIES.”

You can download the latest version here - http://www.tune-up.com/download/

The serial key - QBRHT3-FRRHFH-P0CYDK-V1HBHQ-71KH4M-YNQMAW works perfectly!

Its interface is very-well organized under different categories.

It also provides a distinct feature called “Turbo Mode”. Which increases the system performance by putting all those memory draining processes on halt. It’s useful for gaming where systems full potential is required!
